    Howdy,

    As some of you may know I am currently developing a new Venator map. I am making modifications to Venator V3, taking features from a few other Venator maps, and doing a retexture in areas which I deem necessary.

    If you have ideas on what should be in the final map, lemme know and I will add the feature if it's good :)

    Edits I have made:
    - Retexture
    - Six mini hangars in Main Hangar
    - Added shields in man hangar bays (make it lore friendly)
    - Updated Security Room
    - Fixed optimization
    - Move-able target range in CR room
    - Removed Citadel room and replaced with a different simulation room
    - (there is a cantina in there with actual music :p)

    Planned Edits:
    - Update engine bay to allow better RP
    - Add staff lounge/testing room
    - Add air locks on each bridge
    - Add security camera system
    - Add Janitor's closet
    - Update War Room
    - Update briefing room
    - Minor optimization tweaks (if I missed any)

    Looks good so far! But as Raze just made a post for, I think we should put a cantina in the main area right outside the CR room :)

    I am making this map for fun. I am posting updates here and getting ideas off of you guys. If Jordan wants to use the map that's fine by me.

    Idk if you can but maybe can you put a droid cruiser you can make appear and disappear? It would be great rp. All it would need is a small hangar bay and 2-3 rooms including a bridge.

    The map is already pushing source's limits. If I were to do that I would need to delete first floor in order to cope with all the new brushes. Tbh I don't think adding that would be very beneficial in the long run. Thanks for the idea though :)

    Unless you were able to fix most of the errors the v3 maps and most of its edits produce, we won't be using any variation of the v3 map. It causes to much stress on the server.

    With that said, got any more pictures?

    Yeah I can take more if you would like.

    BTW mind if I use certain elements from the GR map and incorporate them into the V4 I am making?

    Still think we need another location. Like a station, planet etc. while I know this map pushes sources limits. It would make our server standout and add proper RP situations

    I could scale the Venator WAYYYYY down and place it over a map, however logically it wouldn't make sense for us to be there 24/7

    It depends if its certain elements that makes our map truly custom :)
    I don't mind if you take inspiration from our map, just don't copy / paste kinda thing.

    The bit that I want to use is the security room, as i find it simply better than the rest.

    I already tried adding this, the map won't compile as it reaches source's limits

    I think we all know where this is going. Gmod is just not a good enough platform. We need something better

    Nice work on the maps though @Cнroмα
    Not that I don't appreciate base maps, but I feel like making more combat oriented maps would be good. Although I can't really say anything about that, as I'm sure making maps takes extensive amounts of time.
